Long time, no blog.

Hello!

I hope everyone out there is happy and well, we're good. Seamus just keeps on growing and growing, here's a bit of an update on how we're all doing.

Nana Karen (Aimee's Mum) and Seamus hang out a few weeks ago. Seamus is their first and only grandchild so far and tends to stop their house in it's tracks when we turn up.

Grandad Kerry (Aimee's Dad) is hopeless whenever Seamus is within a hundred meters of him!

Bath time, too cute. Bath time is one of my favourite times of the day, Seamus is a true water baby and is fast outgrowing his little tub.

Sleeping on the floor where his father left him :) I loved those little Pooh Bear overalls, I think they fitted him for 2 weeks before he outgrew them.

Big smiles.

Just for Reagan, this is me with a plate of fairy bread at our friend's child's first birthday.

Sleeping in our bed instead of his own.

Our Saint Patrick's day leprechaun. We had a great St. Pat's day, we went to the pub with friends. It was very loud but we pulled Seamus' hat over his ears and he slept while we sipped Guinness-like stout, choice.

Too cute, my boy having some tummy time. He is so keen to crawl it's scary, if you lift his tummy off the floor his legs curl up underneath him and he makes frantic kicking movements as if to take off. The house is not child safe yet so I'm ok with him just staying put for a while yet.

All smiles in his megasaucer, it takes up half the lounge, but hey, it makes him happy.

Reading in his highchair. Very serious :)

On Easter Saturday we had Seamus baptised. It was a lovely service and he was so well behaved it was amazing. Because the service was so long the water in the font got quite cool by the time it was poured on his head. I wish I'd had a camera to capture the shock and dismay on his face! Father Patrick moved quickly so we could scoop him back up before he cried and it was all over before he could get upset, thank goodness.

This is by far his coolest new trick, eating! After 4 and a half months of nothing but milk he's on solids. He eats a range of mushy stuff but seems to like apple and baby rice best. He still feeds off me 6 times a day but is loving eating food and is well on the way to being a bit less dependent on me.

Last weekend we stayed up at the beach in Emmett's sisters bach (holiday house). We had a great weekend and it was so nice to have a change of scene. We didn't do anything really exciting, just relaxed really and enjoyed some lovely sunshine. We're going into Autumn here so it was a chance to head up the coast and catch some of the last good sun of the year.

Last night's dinner got a bit messy when Seamus got excited and wriggled and rubbed it all over his face. He did get some food into his tummy and (alleluia) he slept until an amazing 6.45am!

He is a beautiful wee boy and gets more and more animated everyday. Lately he has developed a chuckle that we are more than happy to spend all our evenings tickling him to get to hear it.

Ok those nappys are not going to hang themselves on the line, see you later and I'll try and update a bit faster than this time, next time.

Bigger by the minute.

Hi Everyone.

We're all good, I was just loading the photos off the camera and thought I'd share a few.

Couch potato Seamus hangs out while I get the washing sorted.

Out of the bassinet and into the cot. This also means Seamus will be in his own room - hooray!

Looking good in his All Black suit, kinda looks like Sean Fitzpatrick on that angle.

Enjoying a bit of tummy time in the sun.

Coming face-to-face with his creator.

Going, going, gone! One of his latest tricks is rolling from tummy to back.

Life's pretty quiet outside of the baby news. We're just rolling through the summer doing the usual stuff like going to bbq's and walking to the beach. Well Seamus is awake and hungry so I'd better go.

Aimee.

7 weeks and all is well

Hi everyone!

I can't seem to turn the underline off so I'm gonna ignore it.

We've been busy and even found time and energy to do things other than feeding baby and changing nappies!

I (Aimee) am getting more sleep as Seamus is sleeping for longer and longer stretches. Sometimes he sleeps for 5-6 hours at night which is really nice. Week before last I was a bridesmaid (or matron of honour as us married people are called) for Bekah. I don't have any pictures of that though (which is odd) but if I get my hands on a good one I'll post it. Then last week we went to the wedding of Paula and Alex, Seamus was perfect and got cuddled all evening by other guests making our evening all the more relaxing. Tomorrow we're attempting our most ambitious weekend yet. We're hosting a barbeque! It was Emmett's idea and worryingly success relies entirely on Seamus and his sleeping tonight.

Anyway that's us all up to date so here are some cute pics.

Totally satisfied after a big feed, like any true boy the way to his heart is through his stomach.

Helping Mum with the washing out in the backyard.

Smiles are hard to catch on camera, this one is blurry but the best pic yet.

We don't have a bathtub, we do have a baby bath but have found a bucket also works well.

He's huge! 6kg at 7 weeks and wearing 00 clothing already. Note the cloth nappy, not only environmentally friendly but they make for such cute bottoms.

Hanging with his Granddad (my Dad) in their backyard where the new house is being built.

"No screaming in the house" sleeping outside because he was making too much noise inside. The fresh air is good for him and he did go to sleep really quickly after I put him out.

Tiny toes, a cute pic taken by his Dad.

An update at last

Hello patient readers. While obviously we have a good excuse we're sorry we haven't updated sooner. Wee Seamus is 4 weeks old tomorrow and is growing rapidly. He's beginning to sleep longer at night (like a whole 4 hours at times!) and will even give us the odd smile to encourage us. We're all healthy and well if a little tired at times. We hope you enjoy this pictorial update !)
4 weeks tomorrow and as handsome as ever.
Not so skinny anymore, filling out those chicken legs!
Happy with his great Nana on our trip to Wanganui.
Chilling with his cousin Tyson (4 1/2 months old) again in Wanganui.
Too cute, Summer baby.
Our truly portable port-a-baby.
"I'm wide awake Dad, what's wrong with you?"
Ahhhh happy Daddy pic.
Sleep, what seems like a rare state some days.
Great Ma on Christmas day.
Totally content (haha) in Aunty Jo's arms on Christmas day.
His criminall cute Christmas suit. He pooed through it early on on Christmas day and changed into something a bit cooler for the Summer day.
He loves bath time, it makes his hair go curly.
Seamus and Mum in our designer tees.
Kiwi kid in his tiki tee-shirt.
